Scoring four nominations each, 'Bad' is up for Drama Series and Episodic Drama awards and 'Orange' is vying for best comedy and best new series honors.

AceShowbiz - The Writers Guild of America has announced the nominations for its 2014 awards in TV field. Netflix and its new original comedy series "Orange Is the New Black" dominate the list, while "Breaking Bad" tops the pack in drama categories.

Earning four nods, the Taylor Schilling starrer is up for Comedy Series and New Series awards. It faces off critically acclaimed vets "30 Rock", "Modern Family" and "Parks and Recreation" as well as HBO's "Veep" in the former category. Meanwhile, also vying for the New Series honor are FX's "The Americans", Netflix's "House of Cards" and Showtime's "Masters of Sex" & "Ray Donovan.

"Breaking Bad" is up against "The Good Wife", "Homeland", "House of Cards" and "Mad Men" in Drama Series category. The recently-concluded show bags three other nods for Episodic Drama, once again competing with "The Good Wife" and "House of Cards" in addition to "Masters of Sex".

With the nominations received by "Orange is the New Black" and "House of Cards", Netflix scores a total of 8. Snubbed in the list this year are "The Big Bang Theory", "Game of Thrones", "Girls", "Louie", "Sons of Anarchy" and "The Walking Dead". "Thrones" wasn't even in consideration for the best drama series due to a submission issue.

"As a result of an inadvertent online entry error HBO's 'Game of Thrones' was not entered in the WGA Awards Drama Series category," HBO explained in November. The show was still submitted for Episodic Drama category, though it does not get any nomination.

Winners of the 2014 WGA Awards will be announced at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York on Saturday, February 1. Nominations for theatrical and documentary screenplay will be announced January 3, while the video game writing nominees will be unveiled January 9.
