Sprouse, who is also a former Disney star, writes on his Tumblr in response to Joe's statement concerning the company's treatment, saying that Joe could have said 'no.'

AceShowbiz - Joe Jonas has been blasted by fellow former Disney star Dylan Sprouse following his statement about the company's treatment in a tell-all piece published on Vulture two days ago. Dylan, who is popular for his sitcom "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody", took to Tumblr on Monday, December 2 to deny that the company had robbed them of "creativity."

"I think it's bulls**t that they were being robbed of choice or creativity. If they wanted to, they could have told Disney 'NO.' Cole and I did this hundreds of times and we ended up all right. The only reason they didn't is because, like many of the people on that channel, I think they fell for the allure of fame. Granted, Cole and I had been acting our entire lives, so we saw it as a means to an end (money making) rather than an opportunity to become successful," the 21-year-old star wrote, referring to his twin brother Cole Sprouse.

"Nowadays artists just assume they have to do what they are told by their proprietors because there is a 'rigid structure to achievement.' It is nothing more than a scheme to rob you of your individuality and capitalize the gain they acquire from such treachery," he continued.

"If you believe this, not only are you incredibly foolish, but you are a BAD ARTIST. Individuality is modernity's most interesting trait regarding artwork and so so many talented individuals realize this. You do not have to become something else to be successful. Not only is it not too late for them to redefine themselves now, it was never too late," he concluded.

Previously, Joe said the essay that Disney put "incredible pressure" on him as well as his brothers Kevin Jonas and Nick Jonas. "I had to shave every day because they wanted me to pretend like I was 16 when I was 20 (when the show was done, I cut my hair off and grew as much of a beard as I could)," Joe said. "We went along with it at the time, because we thought Disney was our only real shot, and we were terrified that it could all be taken away from us at any moment."

He also said that Vanessa Hudgens was kept on lock down following her nude-photo scandal in 2007. "We heard that she had to be in the Disney offices for a whole day because they were trying to figure out how to keep her on lockdown. We'd hear execs talking about it," Joe wrote.
