"Fruitvale Station" was dubbed Best First Film, "The Wind Rises" was Best Animated Film, and Palme d'Or winner "Blue Is the Warmest Color" took Best Foreign Film award.

The critics group will hand out its awards on January 6. Winners of the New York Film Critics Circle Awards often end up in the race for Academy Awards.
