'Fifty Shades of Grey' Nabs Marcia Gay Harden as Christian's Mother
Movie

Harden will play Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey whose friend Elena led her adoptive son Christian to the BDSM world.

AceShowbiz - Highly anticipated movie "Fifty Shades of Grey" adds Marcia Gay Harden to the rooster. The "Trophy Wife" star is joining Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey aka the adoptive mother of Dornan's Christian Grey.

Dr. Grace, in the EL James books, rescued 4-year-old Christian from her crack addict mother. She is also the adoptive mother of Elliot Grey, who is portrayed by Luke Grimes, and Mia Grey, whose role was given to singer Rita Ora. Dr. Grace inadvertently introduced Christian to her friend Elena, who then introduced him to the BDSM world.

"Fifty Shades" is filming in Vancouver and is gearing up for February 2015 release. Producers are hoping to release two versions of the film, with one being more explicit. Some scenes from the novels will be too raunchy for the planned R rating, therefore producer Dana Brunetti is crossing fingers that they'll be able to release a strict over-18s only version.

"What we're kind of hearing is that they (the fans) want it dirty, they want it as close to the book as possible. We could release the R-rated version, which everyone will enjoy, and then for those fans who want to get a little gritty we could release an NC-17 version a few weeks later," Brunetti told Collider.com. "That is my idea, but the fans and the studio will benefit from the double dip. We do not want this film to be seen as mommy porn, we want to keep it elevated but also give the fans what they want."
