The singer, who had a couple acting stints in the past, has been cast as Jamie Dornan's on-screen sister.

AceShowbiz - Rita Ora started as a singer then turns to fashion model before now landing a movie role. The Yugoslavia-born has been cast as Mia in the highly-anticipated "Fifty Shades of Grey".

"It's official! I've been cast in @FiftyShades of Grey as Christian's sister Mia. #FiftyShades," Ora tweeted while attending the British Fashion Awards 2013 on Monday, December 2 night. Mia is the main character Christian Grey's adopted sister who has an outgoing personality.

While this would be her first notable acting role, it is not Ora's first foray into film. The "R.I.P." singer had a formal training at the Sylvia Young Theatre School when she was young. The 23-year-old also scored role in 2004's British movie "Spivs" and last year's "Fast and Furious 6".

Meanwhile, production for "Fifty Shades of Grey", which is adapted from E.L. James' popular book series, has begun. Several pictures taken from the set have made it online. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who portray Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively, shot a scene inside a cafe in Vancouver.

The movie will hit theaters on Valentine's Day 2015 after being pushed back from its original August 1, 2014 slot.
