AceShowbiz - "The Wolfman" is going to spread terror to television viewers. A TV series adaptation based on the 2010 feature film starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins is currently in the works at NBC.

Hailed from "Dracula" executive producer and "Carnivale" creator Daniel Knauf, the project is described as a supernatural thriller that explores what it means to be a man and to be human. It centers on Lawrence Talbot, who is afflicted by an ancient curse and jacks into the powerful, primordial soul of the alpha-predator, Deadline reports.

Knauf is writing and teams up with Scott Stuber, who produced the "Wolfman" movie, and Quan Phung to executive produce it. Knauf has another project, a supernatural telenovela produced by Electus, in development at NBC as part of the company's 3-for-1 telenovela deal with the network.

The "Wolfman" movie directed Joe Johnston is a remake of the 1941 film of the same title. The film generated mixed reviews and failed to make back its budget at the box office. Still, it was honored for Best Makeup at the Academy Awards.
