Brooks gushes over his wife of eight years during appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres show', saying, 'I never knew that everyday you could wake up and feel like this.'

AceShowbiz - Garth Brooks talked about his marriage to Trisha Yearwood as he stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". The country singer opened up about his relationship on the Friday, November 29 episode, telling the show's host Ellen DeGeneres that he did not know he would be so happy every single day. "I've got to tell you, I never knew it could be like this. I never knew that everyday you could wake up and feel like this. And I have God and I have Ms. Yearwood to thank for this," he said.

Songwriter Kent Blazy introduced the pair in 1987 when they were both married. However, Brooks admitted that at that time he felt something special in Yearwood, saying, "When she left, he goes, 'What did you think?' I said, 'Well, it's strange, because I felt that feeling like when you just meet your wife, but I've been married for 13 months.' "

Shortly after his divorce from Sandy Mahl in 2000, Brooks started dating Yearwood. "We'd known each other music-wise, but we got to see each other as people. And I've got to tell you, if you like her and don't know her, you'll love her. If you love her and don't know her, you'll worship her. She's the real deal," he gushed over his wife.

Brooks additionally praised Yearwood's many talents. "She's the bomb, man. She does it all. Make no mistake - Ms. Yearwood was born to sing. That's just what she does...I'll put her in the top five female voices of all time. She's that good," he shared. Yearwood also has her own cooking show and has published three cookbooks.
