AceShowbiz - Female rapper Lil Mama lost in a court battle against her lawyer. The "Lip Gloss" rapper was accused of falling behind her legal fees, and after the court decision she has to fork out $18,000.
The lawyer, who specializes in intellectual property, had been protecting the stage name "Lil Mama" for years. He claimed he worked for Lil Mama until 2011 but he had not been paid for three years beginning 2008. The unnamed lawyer then took the matter to court in which Lil Mama suffered a defeat. Per TMZ, she is ordered to pay roughly $18,000 including for the bill, interest and other fees.
Lil Mama, real name Niatia Jessica Kirkland, has not released any album since her 2008 debut "VYP: Voice of the Young People". She crossed the bridge to the acting world by starring in VH1 biographical film "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" as Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. The TV movie aired last month to 4.5 million viewers.
Lil Mama recently performed at American Music Awards, joining the remaining original members of TLC to perform their 1995 hit "Waterfalls".
