AceShowbiz - The manuscript of Bruce Springsteen's 1975 hit called "Born to Run" will be offered at an auction on December 5. The manuscript has a pre-sale estimate of $70,000 to $100,000, according to auction house Sotheby's.

The seller was not revealed, but Sotheby's said the document used to be in the collection of Springsteen's former manager, Mike Appel. Most of the lines in this manuscript, which were written in 1974 in Long Branch, New Jersey, are said to be unpublished and unrecorded. However, the manuscript does feature a "nearly perfected chorus."

It's written in blue ink, on an 8 1/2-by-11-inch sheet of ruled notepaper. "This town'll rip the (out your) bones from yourback/ It's a suicide trap (rap) (it's a trap to catch theyoung) your dead unless/ You get out (we gotto) while your young so (come on! with) take my hand cause tramps/ Like us baby we were born to run," reads some lines of the manuscript.

"Although Springsteen is known to have an intensive drafting process, few manuscripts of 'Born to Run' are available, with the present example being one of only two identified that include the most famous lines in the song," Sotheby's said.

The manuscript will be included in a Manhattan sale of fine books and manuscripts.
