Ian Watkins accepted the prosecution at Cardiff Crown Court that he was a determined and committed pedophile.

AceShowbiz - Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins pleaded guilty to serious sexual offenses against very young children. It has been accepted by the prosecution that the frontman pleaded guilty to attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under 13 but not guilty to rape.

Watkins previously denied the allegations that he and two women were guilty to "conspiracy to rape and conspiracy to engage in sexual activity" with an underage girl and possession of extreme pornography. In a Tuesday, November 25 trial at Cardiff Crown Court, the 36-year-old admitted to conspiring to rape a child, three counts of sexual assault involving children, seven involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.

"Ian Watkins was the lead singer in a successful band called the Lostprophets," Prosecuting barrister Chris Clee QC told the court. "He accepts he was a determined and committed pedophile." Clee added, "Both women sexually abused their own children and made them available to Watkins for him to abuse."

A text message from Watkins to one of the women became a crucial evidence. It said, "If you belong to me, so does your baby." According to the prosecution, the attempted rape to one of the children happened at a four-star hotel in west London shortly after Watkins appeared on BBC Radio 1. It was saved in a secret disc along with videos of sexual abuse.

Watkins blamed drugs for his actions, claiming he could not remember the incident. A user of crack cocaine and crystal meth, he also discussed on exposing the children to the drugs. One of them has indeed been exposed to crystal meth.

Sentencing will take place on December 18.
