Frank Grillo Hints Crossbones Could Live Beyond 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'
Movie

The 'Prison Break' actor calls the second 'Captain America' movie 'an origin film' introducing characters 'who are going to be around for a while.'

AceShowbiz - Frank Grillo teased Marvel's plan for Crossbones, his character in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". The actor suggested that the villain's appearance in the second "Captain America" film could be an introduction of a bigger thing to come in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"It's an origin film," he opened up to Crave Online about the upcoming superhero movie. "You meet people who are going to be around for a while, so they introduce the characters. It's almost like it's a series. It's fun. I can't say very much about it because Marvel's very strict about what you're allowed to say. The movie, we've seen bits of it, and it is spectacular."

While being careful not to spill too much, Grillo admitted Marvel did have plans for Crossbones in future movies. "They do actually," he said. "We'll see what happens. We'll see if the fans respond to Brock and how it goes."

But when asked if there's a chance Crossbones could appear on "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", he said, "You known, at this point in my career, it's something that I'm not really interested in doing. I've got my own thing to do on television so you can't really do two at once. Not that I don't want to do it, but it doesn't get me going anymore to do something like that."

Directed by the Russo brothers, the "Captain America: The First Avenger" sequel is due April 4, 2014 in the United States. Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan and Samuel L. Jackson reprise their respective roles as the Cap, Black Widow, Winter Soldier and Nick Fury.
