The 'Fast and the Furious' helmer will direct the upcoming remake based on a script from 'Crash Bandits' writer Michael Stokes.

AceShowbiz - MGM is remaking a 1989 film entitled "Road House" with Rob Cohen attached as director, The Wrap reports. Cohen is the same person behind action films like 2001's "The Fast and the Furious", 2002's "XXX" and 2008's "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor".
The director is currently working on Blumhouse's "The Boy Next Door", which stars Jennifer Lopez as a woman who has an inappropriate affair with her teenage neighbor. In the upcoming Matt Dines-produced remake, Cohen will direct based on a script by Michael Stokes ("Crash Bandits").
The original "Road House" features Patrick Swayze, Kelly Lynch, Sam Elliott and Ben Gazzara. It tells a tale of a tough bouncer with a mysterious past who is hired to tame a dirty bar in Missouri and ends up taking on a corrupt businessman.
Directed by Rowdy Herrington, the film is considered as one of the late Swayze's biggest hits. It grossed $30 million at the box office and earned a cult following thanks to home video and cable.
