'Walking Dead' Star Norman Reedus Up for 'The Crow' Remake

The Daryl Dixon depicter on AMC's critically-acclaimed series is allegedly courted to portray a character named James.

AceShowbiz - Norman Reedus is circling a role in "The Crow" remake, Schmoes Know reports. The zombie hunter on "The Walking Dead" is allegedly a frontrunner to play a character named James. Details of who James is are unavailable at the moment.

Luke Evans is attached to play the male lead, while the female lead role is still vacant. There is whisper that producers were considering "Twilight Saga" starlet Kristen Stewart for the leading lady Shelly but they later shied away from the idea.

Based on James O'Barr's 1989 comic book of the same name, the film centers on Eric Draven, a murdered rock star who is brought to life by supernatural bird crow to avenge his murder and that of his fiancee.

The original film released in 1994 starred Brandon Lee in his final film appearance. He died of a gunshot wound after an accidental shooting on the movie's set. He was 28.
