The 'Lone Star' actress will portray Kate, who is the opposite of the shy and innocent Anastasia Steele.

AceShowbiz - "Fifty Shades of Grey" adds another member to its cast ensemble. Eloise Mumford, 27, has just been recently billed to portray Anastasia Steele's bubbly college roommate Kate in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of E.L. James' erotic romance story.
During The Hollywood Reporter's Producers Roundtable, Mark Wahlberg revealed he wanted to produce the film and almost fired his agent when he narrowly missed it out. "I almost fired my agent Ari [Emanuel] over [Fifty Shades] - not because I wanted to play the part," he said.
"We were aware of the book from very early on, and we were close to securing the rights, and then we get into this bidding war," he went on. "We were so close to having [it]. That was one of the few times I was going to fire Ari."
The film's producer Michael De Luca also spoke at the event. He joked that the lead role in the novel "looks a lot like Mark Wahlberg," to which the "Ted" actor quipped back, "No, sounds like Brad Pitt to me."
The movie is led by Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as kinky billionaire Christian Grey and his shy, innocent love interest. They are joined by Luke Grimes as Chris' brother Elliot, Victor Rasuk as Anastasia's close friend Jose, and Jennifer Ehle as her mother Carla.
Directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, it is scheduled to make its way out in the United States on February 13, 2015 just in time for Valentine's Day. "Sons of Anarchy" actor Charlie Hunnam was initially cast as the male lead but he dropped out of the project.
The film is aiming for R rating, but producer Dana Brunetti is also mulling over the idea of releasing a raunchier N-17 version after running the restricted cut in theaters. "What we're kind of hearing from the fans is they want it dirty, they want it as close as possible [to the book]," he said.
Mumford is known for her role on ABC's paranormal series "The River" in 2012. She also appeared in multiple episodes on FOX's drama "Lone Star" in 2010. She will next be seen on the big screen in thriller "Not Safe for Work" directed by "Captain America: The First Avenger" helmer Joe Johnston.
