During a recent presentation to investors, the studio's Co-Chairman Amy Pascal teased, as quoted by The Wrap, what to expect from the upcoming projects, "We are going to access Marvel's full world of Spider-Man characters, so be on the lookout for new heroes and villains."

According to Deadline, Sony's Entertainment chief Michael Lynton shed more lights on the possible sequels and spin-offs, "We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man. There are a number of scripts in the works." He furthermore added the studio was "working closely with Marvel and Disney."

After Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy, the nightcrawler is rebooted with Marc Webb directing the first two films. The next movie, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", will be released in the United States on May 2, 2014, as a follow-up to 2012's "The Amazing Spider-Man".
