The 'Hannibal' actor is set to star on and executive produce 'The Right Mistake' based on Walter Mosley's novels about the ex-convict.

AceShowbiz - Laurence Fishburne has landed a new TV gig. The actor, who has a regular role as Jack Crawford on NBC's "Hannibal", joins forces with HBO to bring Socrates Fortlow back to the small screen.

The former "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" star will return as the ex-convict, created by book author Walter Mosley, on a potential new series "The Right Mistake". He first played the character fifteen years ago in HBO's movie "Always Outnumbered".

Fishburne will also take a behind-the-scenes role as executive producer on the project based on Mosley's series of novels featuring Fortlow. The drama still follows Fortlow, a man seeking redemption after spending 27 years behind bars.

Mosley and Patrick Charles will write the TV series adaptation. Mosley will also serve as executive producer along with Helen Sugland, Tom Russo and Diane Houslin, with Charles on board as co-executive producer.
