The former '30 Rock' star says he understands that his 'Up Late' show will be yanked off the air for two weeks, apologizing to his colleagues 'for distracting from their good work.'

AceShowbiz - Just a month after it debuted, "Up Late With Alec Baldwin" is yanked off the schedule by MSNBC, not because of its ratings. Instead, the network decides to suspend the late-night talk show for two weeks following Alec Baldwin's confrontation with a paparazzo earlier this week.

In a statement posted on MSNBC.com Friday night, November 15, the former "30 Rock" star expresses his regret. "I would like to address the comments I made this past week," he begins. "I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have - and for that I am deeply sorry. Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward."

Baldwin explains his action, "What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support."

"I understand 'Up Late' will be taken off the schedule for tonight and next week," he continues, "I want to apologize to my loyal fans and to my colleagues at msnbc - both for my actions and for distracting from their good work. Again, please accept my apology."

On Thursday, a few hours after his stalker Genevieve Sabourin was sentenced to 180 days in jail, Baldwin lashed out at a paparazzo waiting for him and his family outside his Manhattan apartment. He was allegedly caught on camera saying "c**ksucking f*g," but insisted that he said "fathead."

He later apologized on Twitter after GLAAD informed him that "c**ksucking" is also an anti-gay epithet. "Rich Ferraro from @glaad informs me that c'sucker is an anti-gay epithet. In which case I apologize and will retire it from my vocabulary," the Emmy-winning actor tweeted.

He, however, was involved in at least three other incidents with paparazzi in New York City on Friday. He screamed, "F**k you," to a female reporter, allegedly shoved a photographer into a car, and insulted a reporter from FOX5.
