AceShowbiz - After teasing it in a promo, HBO has released an official trailer for its new gay-centric series, "Looking". It mostly centers on Jonathan Groff's Patrick who thinks there's nothing wrong with young people having "a life outside of work."
"This is San Francisco; that's why I live here. If I didn't want to have a life, I'd move to L.A.," he argues. He is caught browsing through online dating service but claims he's searching for a roommate.
A mid-life crisis at 40, open relationships and a search for "someone who understands you" are some other issues brought up in the snippet. But it seems that the characters still have a long way before finding what they're looking for as Patrick says in the video, "That's not easy to find."
Dubbed a gay version of Lena Dunham's "Girls", "Looking" follows three thirty-something friends living in San Francisco who grapple with all the options in contemporary life and the complexities of the modern gay experience. "Glee" star Groff is joined by Frankie J. Alvarez and Murray Bartlett in the upcoming comedy series, which is set to debut January 19, 2014 on HBO.
