Joe Wright Eyed to Direct New 'Peter Pan' Adaptation

The 'Anna Karenina' helmer is in talks to direct the upcoming movie adaptation that's based on the screenplay writen by Jason Fuchs.

AceShowbiz - Joe Wright is considering to direct Warner Bros.' "Peter Pan (2015)". According to Deadline, the British filmmaker, whose works include "Anna Karenina", "Atonement" and "Hanna", is currently in talks to bring the titular character created by J.M. Barrie to the big screen.

Plot details are still kept under the wraps, but the film will be an origin story that finds main character Peter being brought to Neverland. He will then lead the natives to rebel against the antagonist Captain Hook and his evil pirates.

"Ice Age: Continental Drift" writer Jason Fuchs is already on board to pen the screenplay. Greg Berlanti is producing under his Berlanti Productions banner while Sarah Schechter will oversee for the studio.

Warner Bros. is the latest studio to have its own Peter Pan project. Disney is developing a prequel to the Peter Pan story called "Peter and the Starcatchers" with Gary Ross attached to direct. Sony is also developing "Pan" with Channing Tatum and Joe Roth serving as producers.
