Derek Hough Blames Elizabeth Berkley's Shocking 'DWTS' Elimination on New Voting System

The 'Dancing with the Stars' pro dancer thinks the system in which last week's votes count for this week's elimination makes the result 'more unpredictable.'

AceShowbiz - It was another shocking result on "Dancing with the Stars" Monday, November 11. After Snooki got the cut last week, it's Elizabeth Berkley who fell victim to the elimination this week despite her great performance that night.

Sharing his opinion on why the dancing competition seemingly sent home the "wrong" person each week, Derek Hough admitted, "[Elizabeth] did an amazing job tonight, and was praised for being just such an amazing dancer but I think this season has been the most shocking eliminations, there have been several."

The professional dancer, who has joined the cast of "DWTS" since the fifth season, continued telling E! News backstage after the latest episode, "I think it's the new system that the votes from last week count for this week and it makes it more unpredictable and it's crazy."

Bill Engvall, who has earned the lowest score for five straight weeks but still managed to dodge the elimination, believed that he deserved his spot on the show. "I will tell you this, we deserve to be here. We work as hard as everybody else and I'm going to work my butt off this next week to get us into the finals," he argued. "We've got low scores but I think the judges are learning about the rednecks."

Elizabeth had to hang her dancing shoes on Monday night despite earning the second-highest total score of the night with 56 points. "I'm sad," she said after learning her fate. "There were more things we wanted to do. But I'm, honestly beyond grateful for this, it was one of the biggest gifts and blessings in my life and I want to thank everyone especially Val [Chmerkovskiy]. I've learned so much, obviously dance, but (also) growth as a human being and partnership."
