AceShowbiz - FX has nabbed the commercial TV premiere rights to the latest box office hit, "Thor: The Dark World". The acquisition comes on the heels of the film's thunderous debut on the North American chart with $85.7 million in its first weekend.

The sequel to 2011's "Thor" which still stars Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder will be available on FX channels beginning in 2015. Critically-acclaimed and commercially successful "Gravity", potential Oscar contender "Captain Phillips", as well as "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa", "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2" and "Prisoners" also land on FX.

Previously, the cable channel acquired the rights to such blockbuster films as "Iron Man 3", "Despicable Me 2", "Man of Steel", "Fast and Furious 6", "Star Trek Into Darkness", "World War Z", "The Croods", "The Heat", "Identity Thief", "Grown Ups 2", "The Wolverine", "The Hangover Part III" and "Pacific Rim".
