The 'Law and Order: SVU' star receives the 2,511th star on Hollywood Walk of Fame, while Thompson takes a tumble in a handprint ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre.

AceShowbiz - Mariska Hargitay has been honored with the the 2,511th star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" creator Dick Wolf and Hilary Swank joined Hargitay at the unveiling ceremony which took place on Friday, November 8. Hargitay's star is located beside her mother's star, actress Jayne Mansfield.

"I love you, you've done an incredible job. You are one of the icons of television, and certainly, I think the female icon for millions of women not only here, but all around the world," Wolf told the Det. Olivia Benson depicter. Swank, who met Hargitay for the first time on the set of "ER", praised the actress for her "beyond extraordinary" spirits in her speech.

While Hargitay was happy with her star, actress Emma Thompson had an embarrassing incident a day before the unveiling ceremony. The "Saving Mr. Banks" actress was at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Thursday, November 7 for a handprint and footprint ceremony, but she fell on the red carpet.

According to E! Online, Thompson was done leaving her marks on the cement and was about to leave when she lost balance and fell. Thompson kept smiling following the clumsy moment, which was witnessed by Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, Jason Schwartzman and B.J. Novak.
