'Fast and Furious' Helmer Justin Lin to Direct 'Bourne Legacy' Sequel

Lin is expected to direct Jeremy Renner in the next chapter of Aaron Cross' journey hatched by 'Sherlock Holmes' scribe Anthony Peckham.

The sequel to "" has found its director, Deadline has learned. Justin Lin, who directed the last four "" movies, has been tapped by Universal to serve behind the lens for the upcoming fifth installment of the spy action thriller series.

is expected to reprise his role as the successor of 's Jason Bourne who became the main focus in the first three films. Renner's Aaron Cross will continue his journey in a story penned by Anthony Peckham ("", "").

Lin, who left "Fast and Furious 7" to "" helmer James Wan, follows in the footsteps of Tony Gilroy (2012's "The Bourne Legacy"), Paul Greengrass (2007's "", 2004's ""), and Doug Liman (2002's "").

Supported by and , the last "Bourne" film has so far collected an estimated $276 million. An "" is scheduled for summer 2015.
