AceShowbiz - "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" will be screened at the White House this coming weekend. President Barack Obama will be joined by Harvey Weinstein, director Justin Chadwick and cast Idris Elba and Naomie Harris.

"Knowing what a strong relationship President Obama has with President Mandela, it's an honor for this film to be shown at the White House," Weinstein says in a statement. Nelson Mandela's daughters Zindzi and Zenani Mandela will be present as well.

The screening will take place on Thursday, November 7, the same day that First Lady Michelle Obama is scheduled to host high school students who have passion in movie business at an event with as yet unnamed industry experts.

An Oscar contender, the movie is based on the South African President's autobiography of the same name. It chronicles his early life, coming of age, education and 27 years in prison before becoming a president and working to rebuild the country's once segregated society.
