The musician's twelfth album, which has been described as 'a companion piece of sorts' to his 2002's 'Sea Change', will be released in February next year.

AceShowbiz - Beck has signed to Capitol Records and is currently working on a new album that will arrive in February 2014. Set to be titled "Morning Phase", the upcoming release will mark Beck's first album of new material since 2008's "Modern Guilt".

According to a press release, "Morning Phase" is "described as a companion piece of sorts" to Beck's acclaimed eighth album, "Sea Change". The new record will even feature appearances from musicians who played on the 2002 release.

The musicians will include Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Joey Waronker, Smokey Hormel, Roger Joseph Manning Jr., and Jason Falkner. Also serving as producer is Johnsen, who has worked with Paramore and Tegan and Sara among others.

After completing his contract with Interscope back in 2008, Beck continued working on music. In December 2012, he released "Song Reader", an album that was released as sheet music. The 20 songs in the music sheet are open to interpretation by different musicians.

More recently, Beck reimagined David Bowie's classic entitled "Sound and Vision" and contributed to Doug Aitken's "Station to Station" train tour.
