AceShowbiz - After leading the nominees at the recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards and duplicating the feat in the forthcoming MTV Europe Music Awards, the winning combination that is Macklemore and Ryan Lewis is at it again, this time at the inaugural YouTube Music Awards set to unfold on November 3. The rap music duo tops all other acts by having the most number of nominations with four.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are up against nine other popular names for the Artist of the Year awards, including South Korean YouTube sensation PSY. Likewise, their music video for "Same Love" will have to beat nine other contenders, like Miley Cyrus' twerk-filled "We Can't Stop" and Lady GaGa's latest hit "Applause", to win the Video of the Year honor.
Rounding up the four nods for the dynamic duo of rapper Macklemore and producer Ryan Lewis are the YouTube Breakthrough and Phenomenon awards, the latter being the category where their phenomenal hit "Thrift Shop" is pitted against such viral YouTube videos "Gangnam Style" and "Harlem Shake". With his third nomination under Video of the Year for "Gentleman", PSY ends up as runner-up in the leading nominees list.
There's no word if the top nominees will perform during the awards ceremony, but as for the rapping, it will be ably handled by Eminem, with Lady GaGa and Arcade Fire already confirmed in the line-up. Also performing are M.I.A., Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Avicii and Walk off the Earth.
