The former 'Jersey Shore' cast member is a proud father to a baby girl born a few months ago as saying, 'I am excited to embark on this new part of my life.'

AceShowbiz - DJ Pauly D officially becomes a first-time dad. News just broke out that the former "Jersey Shore" star had welcomed a daughter with a woman whom he hooked up with while deejaying in Las Vegas. "I'm proud I'm a father," the disc jokey confirms to TMZ. "I am excited to embark on this new part of my life."
He reportedly didn't know about the child until recently. "She contacted him after the baby was born. He of course had to take precautions before believing the baby was his, but he is definitely excited to be a dad," a source tells Us Weekly. "Pauly is taking responsibility and will be in this child's life one way or another."
The mother, 26, used to work as a cocktail waitress. She filed court documents in New Jersey to formally establish paternity, although Pauly D, 33, has taken a paternity test that proves he is the father. She currently lives in New Jersey with the baby who is a few months old. She also has a son from a previous relationship.
Pauly D and the mother "didn't have a previous relationship," according to E! News, but the DJ "is hoping to develop a relationship" with her. "[He] wasn't exactly planning for it to happen this way," an insider claims, "but God works in mysterious ways." And he is "ready to jump in and take responsibility as a father."
Snooki, who welcomed her own child earlier this year, has responded to Pauly's surprise baby news. "I'm so happy for Pauly," she gushes. "Definitely a shock to all of us, but we know Pauly the best and he's going to be an amazing father. He's so loving and caring. I can't wait for Lorenzo and her to play!"
Another pal JWoww says in a similar tone, "Holy s**t I just heard! I'm so f**king happy for him I just texted him. Crying! He's going to be the best dad ever!"
