The actor debuted blond locks on Saturday night as he presented a BFI fellowship award to Christopher Lee.

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp was the surprise guest at Saturday night's London Film Festival honoring legendary actor Christopher Lee. And he indeed surprised everyone by going blond for the occasion, where he presented a British Film Institute fellowship award to 91-year-old Lee whom he described as "a great man, a very great man indeed."
Depp and Lee have worked together in five of filmmaker Tim Burton's movies, co-starring in "Sleepy Hollow", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Dark Shadows". Lee has also lent his voice to Burton's "Corpse Bride and "Alice in Wonderland", which likewise both featured Depp.
Depp called Lee "a wonderful inspiration," going on to say how it "was certainly a childhood dream come true" for him to have worked with the veteran actor, who gained a new generation of movie fans with his role as Count Dooku in the "Star Wars" prequels and Saruman in "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit". He was regarded by Depp as a "true gentleman," "national treasure" and "artist," with a heartfelt "I love you" from the 50-year-old actor to make the award presentation even more memorable.
If everyone was surprised to see the usually dark-haired movie star's new blond hairdo at the ceremony, most surprised that night with Depp's appearance was Lee himself, who thought Depp was "somewhere else in Europe" filming a new project. But Depp is very much in the U.K., where the forthcoming Disney movie musical "Into the Woods" is being filmed, where Depp plays the Big Bad Wolf.
