AceShowbiz - Carrie has a mission. In the next episode of "Homeland", after out from the asylum, Carrie is on the close watch by both the CIA and Iran. She's put in a difficult situation as she asks at one point in a preview video, "Did I get made?" and is later seen being grabbed by someone from behind.
In another scene, Jessica Brody shows up at Carrie's doorstep, perhaps trying to ger her help to find Dana who goes missing. Carrie turns to Agent Hall to ask him find the daughter of Brody, but Hall refuses to help Carrie, believing that the teenage girl is okay with her boyfriend.
Meanwhile, one of the world's most sought after terrorists, Javadi, crosses the border into the United States, and Saul rubs elbows with his adversary.
The new episode, "The Yoga Play", will air Sunday, October 27 at 9 P.M. ET/PT on Showtime.
The latest episode of the drama thriller revealed [SPOILER ALERT!] that Carrie had been working with Saul to lure the real culprit behind the bombing at the CIA office. Her forced institutionalization was even part of the scheme.
Speaking about the twist, showrunner Alex Gansa tells The Hollywood Reporter, "We view season three in three movements - each being four episodes - with this being the end of the first movement. It was a long con that they played in order to draw out this Iranian intelligence officer, Majid Javadi [Shaun Toub]."
As for when Carrie and Saul came up with the idea, he said, "As intelligence officers, the first thing that they would try to do is to turn this tragedy into something positive. That's what they went to work on the day after the bombing. How were they going to catch the guys responsible for this? A plan was hatched quite quickly in the aftermath of the attack on the CIA."
Gansa admitted that at some point the plan "was one step too far." "It comes down to the line towards the end of this episode when she says, 'You really should have gotten me out of the hospital,' " he elaborated. "That was the part of her role-playing that hit too close. Although they are in this ruse together, it's painful for Carrie to admit that she's to blame for what happened and to think that because she was on her meds, she missed stopping the attack. All of that is true and playing through her head."
"They are now in the process of luring him out into the open and landing this guy," Gansa continued dishing on Carrie and Saul's next goal. "That's the substance of the second movement."
