Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon Is a 'Lonely' and 'Tortured' Soul in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'
Movie

Chris Pratt reveals the back story of the pint-sized gunslinger which will be voiced by Bradley Cooper in the upcoming film.

AceShowbiz - Detailed plotline of "Guardians of the Galaxy" is still kept under wraps, but one of the cast Chris Pratt has revealed a few tidbits on what to expect from the upcoming superhero film. In a chat with Access Hollywood, he spilled the back story of Rocket Raccoon.

"You think it's a cartoon character, but it's not, it's a very real creature," he said of the fierce, gun-toting critter. "Rocket has been tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he's lonely and he's angry and there are all these elements to the character."

"You sort of forget about that, you wouldn't think about, and hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that's why they hired a really good actor to do the role," he added. "I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon."

He continued, "It's a great character. It's probably the best character in the movie, just because it's not what you would expect."

Meanwhile, Michael Rooker who plays Yondu told SciFiNow earlier that his character wouldn't get along with Raccoon. "He's a bit abrupt and brash for my taste," the Merle Dixon of "The Walking Dead" spilled. "I probably have a little Merle in me still, because I would roast him over an open flame and eat him for supper!"

Speaking more about his character, Rooker added, "The paparazzi have a bunch of photos of Yondu - I think Yondu was the first of the characters that got totally exposed - and you can see the character looks totally different from the comic...."

"The blue [paint] is simple, it's beautiful. The colors that we use in Guardians are just exquisite. When everything is put together - when you have wardrobe on and the lighting's going - man oh man it's beautiful, it's going to look fabulous."

Pratt himself will play Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord, the leader of the Guardians. He is joined in the cast ensemble by Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Benicio Del Toro, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Gregg Henry, Karen Gillan, and Vin Diesel.

Diesel recently posted on YouTube and Facebook a video that showed him testing out his stilts for the motion-captured role as Groot. "Do I look like a tree?" he said. He also revealed he would only have one line in the movie. "[But] I'm still going to make it the best thing I possibly can," he said, "even if it means taking angry circus to another level."

Directed by James Gunn, the movie is due August 1, 2014.
