The remaining four finalists create a machine washable garment to add to their collections that are showcased at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

AceShowbiz - Alexandria von Bromssen, Bradon McDonald, Dom Streater and Justin LeBlanc were vying for the top prize on the "Project Runway" season 12 finale which aired Thursday, October 17 on Lifetime. Taped on September 7, the episode saw the four finalists creating a machine washable garment that would show along with their finished line at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

Justin and Alexandria tried to take the judges' feedback but in Alexandria's case, she got panicked and considered to remake an entire shirt from her collection. Mentor Tim Gunn helped calm her down and advised her to focus on correcting what the judges didn't like.

On the D-day of the runway show, the designers dealt with their own issues. Justin was forced to find a replacement at the last minute as one of his models broke her ankle. Bradon yelled at his models not to eat and drink near his clothes, yet he found a coffee stain on one dress.

Heidi Klum, Zac Posen, Nina Garcia and guest judge Kerry Washington served as the judges on the finale. The highlight of Justin's collection was his unconventional finale dress. Dom's "Retro Redux" collection stunned the judges with bold prints and modern silhouettes. Alexandria first sent out her unconventional look, but what followed later was boring. Bradon, meanwhile, presented a springtime wonderland collection that was praised for being courageous and meticulous.

After some deliberation, the judges decided to give the first place to Dom as Nina praised her, "You were fearless, you were bold, you did it." The 24-year-old from Philadelphia took home a prize package worth more than half a million dollars. "This is huge for me," Dom said with teary eyes. "I'm going to sleep a lot, and then I'm going to pick it up and get right to work on my next collection."

Alexandria finished at the second place, Justin was the second runner-up, whie Bradon ended up at the fourth place.

In an interview with Wall Street Journal, Dom shared about what she had been doing post-her win. "I immediately got to work on designing my fall-winter collection for next year," she said. "I also got a few commissions that I've been working on, including clothes for a musician, which has been really interesting and fun."
