'Insidious' Star Ty Simpkins Bags Lead Role in 'Jurassic World'
Movie

The child actor who plays Tony Stark's sidekick in 'Iron Man 3' leads the still-being-finalized cast ensemble for the fourth 'Jurassic Park movie.

AceShowbiz - Until now, young Ty Simpkins has been known as the 12-year-old child actor from New York City who has starred in the "Insidious" films and as the sidekick of Robert Downey Jr.'s character Tony Stark in "Iron Man 3". But soon he will be adding "Jurassic World" in his filmography after landing the lead role in the "Jurassic Park" film series' fourth entry.

Other roles in the Colin Trevorrow-directed flick are still being cast, with "Parenthood" actress Bryce Dallas Howard supposedly in talks for the female lead. The highly-anticipated movie might also reunite Trevorrow with his "Safety Not Guaranteed" star Jake Johnson who's reportedly being considered for a role in the movie.

With Simpkins being cast in the lead role, this gives away the consistent plot of children being terrorized by dinosaurs as initially drafted by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver before rewritten by Trevorrow with Derek Connolly. Whoever will complete the rest of the cast will need to be decided before production for the forthcoming science fiction adventure film begins early next year in time for its slated June 12, 2015 release date.

It may be safe to say that what helped Simpkins bag the role in "Jurassic World" are not only his impressive acting credentials but his previous work for Steven Spielberg, who will be producing the film alongside Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. Simpkins starred in Spielberg's 2005 sci-fi epic "War of the Worlds".
