'Slumdog Millionaire' director Boyle will executive produce the World War II drama, while the 'Good Will Hunting' co-stars team up for the half-hour comedy starring Tom Papa.

AceShowbiz - FX has landed a miniseries from Oscar-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle and Simon Beaufoy. Titled "Telemark", the show is based on the true story of the British-trained Norwegian resistance fighters who sabotaged Hitler's nuclear development program during World War II.

"As we all know, some of the very best narrative fiction ever told is currently being created as episodic television," Beaufoy says. "This incredible story is ideally suited to the slower burn and added complexity that the longer format allows, and I can't wait to get my teeth into this."

Boyle also states, "This is one of the world's greatest stories, and we want to tell it on an epic scale." Boyle will serve as executive producer along with Christian Colson, marking him, Colson and Beaufoy's first project for American television. The threesome has previously collaborated on critically-acclaimed films "Slumdog Millionaire" and "127 Hours".

Another network, CBS, snags a small-screen project from renowned movie actors, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The two best buds will work together again as executive producers for a sitcom, "More Time With Family", starring comedian Tom Papa.

Based on Papa's stand-up and Damon's experiences, the multi-camera comedy follows Papa's character who changes his career and gives up a life on the road to spend more time at home with his family - but when he gets there, he realizes no one asked him to do that. The project created a heated bidding war before landing at CBS with a put pilot commitment.
