The actress underwent radical hysterectomy after being diagnosed with early stage endometrial cancer.

AceShowbiz - Former "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star underwent radical hysterectomy surgery for early stage endometrial cancer on Friday, October 11. The 45-year-old celebrity, who was at an elevated risk for cancer due to genetic issues, is now recuperating from the operation and already on the road to a full recovery, according to her representative Howard Bragman.

"The surgery went well and she is expected to make a complete recovery following a significant recuperation period," Bragman said. "[She] has been diligent about regular checkups and monitoring, which explains the early detection and rapid treatment," he added.

Bragman also conveyed Grammer's gratitude to the health care professionals who handled her during her surgery. "She urges all women to be aware of genetic factors relating to women's cancers and get regular checkups," said her rep.

Endometrial cancer is the most common cancer of the female reproductive system, affecting almost 50,000 women each year in the U.S. Gramme's procedure will definitely raise awareness and encourage other women to get tested early to detect the disease, especially if they have the risk factors such as hormone imbalance, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Grammer has two children via a surrogate with former husband, comedian and "Frasier" star Kelsey Grammer with whom she was married to from 1997 until the finalization of their divorce in 2011. She has since dated her current partner Dimitri Charalambopoulos.
