The pop diva leaves Red Light Management and gets the So So Def label founder as her new manager.

AceShowbiz - After parting ways with manager Randy Jackson last May to sign up with Red Light Management, pop/R'n'B diva Mariah Carey moves to another manager anew by hiring record producer and longtime friend Jermaine Dupri. The So So Def record label founder will now assume the responsibilities of handling Carey's illustrious career and the new heights it can still reach.

Dupri broke the news during the A3C Hip-Hop Festival over the weekend, where he also revealed that he and his frequent collaborator had been back in the recording studio working on new music. Most likely, one of his top priorities now as her new manager is to finally release Carey's already delayed 14th studio album, "The Art of Letting Go".

The two are expected to have an easy time coming up with new hit songs, with Dupri churning out the Carey's 1996 Grammy-nominated "Always Be My Baby" followed by "Don't Forget About Us", "Shake It Off" and the 2006 Grammy-winning R'n'B song "We Belong Together". The music mogul was in many ways instrumental in shaping the 43-year-old songstress' successful career that for him to be chosen by Carey as her new manager seems to be a wise decision on her part.

Carey dropped Jackson as her manager earlier this year while they were still very much involved in judging "American Idol". Jackson, who has also collaborated with Carey for most of her career, produced two of the tracks in "Glitter" soundtrack.
