Douglas Gresham, the stepson of the book series' writer C.S. Lewis, will be involved in producing and writing the script for the new film.

AceShowbiz - A fourth "Narnia" movie is on the way. The C.S. Lewis Company, in conjunction with The Mark Gordon Company, will bring moviegoers to enter the Narnian magical world once again in a new film based on the fourth book of the children's classic tale, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair".

Douglas Gresham, stepson of the book series' author C.S. Lewis, will serve as producer along with Vincent Sieber, director of the Los Angeles-based C.S. Lewis Company, and Mark Gordon. The three will also work together to develop the script for the upcoming big-screen adaptation.

"Like many readers, both young and old, I am a huge fan of C.S. Lewis's beautiful and allegorical world of Narnia. These fantasy stories inspire real-world passion among millions of devoted fans around the world. As we prepare to bring the next book to life, we are humbled and excited to contribute to the outstanding legacy of Narnia," Gordon says.

The first "Narnia" film, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe", was released in 2005, followed by "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" in 2008 and "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" in 2010. Those three films combined have grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide. Andrew Adamson helmed the first two for Disney, and Michael Apted directed the third one when it moved to Fox.
