Katy Perry Debuts 'Prism' Promo Single 'Walking on Air'

The 'Roar' hitmaker drops her second promo single just a few weeks before her 'Prism' album arrives.

AceShowbiz - After previously releasing a 30-second snippet of the song, Katy Perry has released the full version of her upcoming "Prism" album's promo single "Walking on Air". The almost four-minute, Klas Ahlund-produced track comes on the heels of her Billboard chart-topping lead single "Roar" and the Juicy J-assisted "Dark Horse" and precedes the second official single "Unconditionally".

As Perry herself wrote on Twitter earlier this month, "Walking on Air" is meant to be "just tastes to enjoy!" just like "Dark Horse". Although for a promo single, it had already soared to No. 4 on iTunes, blurring the distinction between the singer's buzz beat and an actual released single.

And this could probably be duplicated with "Walking on Air" especially now that it's been dropped in full. The danceable tune carries Perry's familiar pop vibe splashed with some '90s dance house beats and synths as she sings about letting yourself go and losing yourself, something to entice fans until the October 18 debut of her new album.

However, as Perry revealed during last month's MTV Video Music Awards, "Prism" is more than the topics of love, passion and lust covered by her latest promo single. It's about letting "the light in and then I was able to create all these songs that were inspired by letting the light in and doing some self-reflection and just kind of working on myself."
