The Gwen Stacy of 'Spider-Man 3' has got an official offer to play one of the main roles in the upcoming fourth installment of the 'Jurassic Park' movie franchise.

AceShowbiz - Bryce Dallas Howard is reportedly in talks to play a lead role in "Jurassic World". She has long been rumored to star in the 3D film but didn't receive an official offer until recently, so an individual familiar with the pic spills to TheWrap.

The upcoming "Jurassic Park 4" project had been developed over 11 years before officially announced early this year. The last movie, "Jurassic Park III", helmed by Joe Johnston was released in 2001. It took in $368.7 million worldwide.

Director Colin Trevorrow will direct the next entry with a script he wrote with his "Safety Not Guaranteed" partner Derek Connolly. The original draft was penned by "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

The fourth installment of "Jurassic Park" movie franchise initially eyed a June 24 start for production and a June 13, 2014 for release. Before the postponement, David Oyelowo and Garrett Hedlund were linked to the project along with Howard.

Steven Spielberg, the director of the first two installments, is on board as the executive producer. His 1993 "Jurassic Park" grossed $914.6 million worldwide, while his 1997 "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" collected $618.6 million worldwide.

The film is now due June 12, 2015 and expected to kick off production in Hawaii this winter. The plot detail is still scarce, but Trevorrow confirmed that there would be a new dinosaur. "We have a new one that's pretty cool. I'm not going to tell you anything about it, but...It's pretty bad ass," he said.

Howard hasn't been seen on the big screen since appearing in "50/50" and "The Help", both released in 2011. Her other credits include "Spider-Man 3" as Gwen Stacy and "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" as cat-like vampire Victoria.
