Director Bryan Singer reveals the destruction of Xavier's school for mutant while giving update on what he's up in the cutting room.

AceShowbiz - Bryan Singer has given another teaser for his upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past". The director tweeted a picture from the editing room which hinted that Xavier's school for the gifted would be left behind in the next installment of the superhero film franchise.

"Back in the cutting room! #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast," Singer wrote on Friday, September 20. The photo displayed on a giant computer screen shows the logo of the mutant boarding school sitting abandoned on the ground among overgrown grasses.

"Days of Future Past" will see the return of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as the young Professor X and Magneto with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen portraying their older versions respectively. Jennifer Lawrence is back as Mystique, Halle Berry as Storm, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, and Anna Paquin as Rogue. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will also make an appearance.

It will be based on Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run. The story introduced the idea of an alternate future for the Marvel mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

The movie is due May 23, 2014.
