The Kiwi singer/songwriter, who says she's happy that her hit song tops the chart, retweets some hate messages from Cyrus' fans who urge her to kill herself.

AceShowbiz - Lorde has landed her hit at the top spot of U.S. iTunes chart. The 16-year-old singer's "Royals" edged out other hit singles, including Katy Perry's "Roar" and most recent first placer Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball".

"Wo #1 on US itunes. even if it lasts an hour i feel HAPPY," Lorde shared her excitement on Twitter, before revealing that several fans of Cyrus were not happy with her new achievement. "Downside is all these miley fans telling me they're gonna stab my rotting corpse," she added.

The Kiwi singer/songwriter then retweeted some of the threats she had received from Cyrus' fans. "Please kill urself @lordemusic," read one tweet. Another Smiler added, "@lordemusic kill yourself you crusty old hag."

Cyrus has reacted to her fans' hate tweets to Lorde. The former Disney star then tweeted her support for Lorde's song, writing, "@lordemusic why r people so mean??? Ps your music is awesome."

Lorde's No. 1 song apparently won't be a big problem for Cyrus. Her "Wrecking Ball" is currently swinging atop Billboard 100, while "Royals" is sitting at the chart's No. 3.

"Royals" is featured in Lorde's upcoming "Pure Heroine" album, which will arrive in the U.S. on September 27.
