Disney Shifts 'Good Dinosaur', 'Finding Dory' and 'Maleficent' Release Dates

The animation about pre-historic animals gives up its original release date to the Angelina Jolie starrer and occupies a date initially set for the 'Finding Nemo' sequel, which is pushed back to 2016.

Disney adjusts schedules of its upcoming movies. Pixar's "" which takes place in the world where human and pre-historic animals co-exist gets delayed a year along with another Pixar animation "". The Mouse House also changes release date of its live action pic "".

"Good Dinosaur" initially set for May 30, 2014 is now due November 25, 2015. The change leaves Pixar with no release next year, marking the first time since 2005 such thing happens. The delay came after the studio removed Bob Peterson from the directing seat over the summer. No official replacement has been announced.

The November 2015 date newly set for the "Good Dinosaur" project actually belonged to Andrew Stanton's "Finding Dory", but the family-friendly film which will see the return of favorite characters from 2003's "" has been pushed back to June 17, 2016 to accommodate the shuffling.

The movie about the amnesiac fish needs to be moved out of the 2015 calendar undoubtedly to avoid Pixar overload that year. Another big-screen project from the studio "", a risky project set inside the head of a young girl, has already been set to be released in theaters on June 19, 2015 before.

Meanwhile, starrer "Maleficent" takes the advantage of the "Good Dinosaur" postponement. The movie that explores the backstory of the evil sorcerer from "Sleeping Beauty" tale now occupies the date left vacant by the animation. It was originally set for July 2, 2014 before being moved up to May 30.

Elsewhere, Sony also has some changes by pushing back "" starring and . The comedy from "" director Jake Kasdan also gave up the Independence Day holiday to occupy July 18. was recently added to the cast ensemble that includes .
