The last episodes of the AMC drama series will be 75 minutes each with commercials, co-executive producer Peter Gould reveals.

AceShowbiz - "Breaking Bad" will have a longer swan song. The last two episodes of the hit drama series will get extra 15 minutes added to their standard hour length. Sharing the good news was co-executive producer Peter Gould who tweeted on September 18, "I checked & it's official. Last 2 #BreakingBad eps are 75 minutes each w/commercials. Set your DVRS accordingly. Better still, watch live!"

The most recent episode of the crime drama show set new ratings record for the series. "Ozymandias" which aired last Sunday delivered 6.4 million viewers with 4.1 million in adults 18-49 demo. It was the most-watched episode in the show's history so far.

Just a day ago, AMC announced an extended final season of its other hit series, "Mad Men". The seventh and last installment of the period drama will be split into two parts consisting of 7 episodes each, with the first half ("The Beginning") set to air in spring 2014 and the second half ("The End of an Era") airing a year later in spring 2015.

The network did the same to the last chapter of "Breaking Bad". "This approach has worked well for many programs across multiple networks, and, most recently for us with 'Breaking Bad'," Charlie Collier, AMC president, said. "We are determined to bring 'Mad Men' a similar showcase... We believe this is the best way to release the now 14 episodes than remain of this iconic series."
