Grand Valley State University in Michigan is forced to get rid of the pendulum statue after their students use it to recreate the former Disney star's newest music video.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus' new music video has prompted a Michigan University to remove its giant pendulum Statue. Total Frat Move reported that the administrators at Grand Valley Statue University in Allendale took down the 42-inch steel ball, which was hanging on a 50-foot cable, after the students used it to recreate Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" video.

Tim Thimmesh, GVSU head of facilities, explained that the ball was removed for "safety reasons," since the students had been swinging on the ball that was a part of the campus for years. "We really do need to verify the structural integrity right now, and consider the safety ramifications and look whether there's a better way to install it," he said.

Directed by Terry Richardson, the controversial music video for "Wrecking Ball" features Cyrus swinging naked on a wrecking ball. The video also came on the heels of her recent racy performance at MTV Video Music Awards.

Several stars has voiced their opinion about the 20-year-old singer, who has just called off her engagement to Liam Hemsworth. In a new interview, Elton John opened up about his fears for Cyrus, saying, "I look at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen. And she's so young. But she's got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her."

Iconic singer Cher agreed with John. In an interview with USA Today, the 67-year-old star referred to Cyrus' MTV VMA performance, saying, "[Cyrus] can't dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn't great, one cheek was hanging out. And, chick, don't stick out your tongue if it's coated."

Pop singer Pink wasn't a fan of Cyrus' performances either. The "Thanks for Sharing" star called Cyrus' latest performances "tacky." But it doesn't mean Pink hates Cyrus. "She's really freaking talented," Pink continued. "She's beautiful. She can sing her ass off and to go up there and do that? She's cheating herself and she's cheating the rest of us... She can do what she wants. People can like it if they want. I'm not going to buy it. She can do better. I've seen her do better."
