In addition to the traditional 'In Memoriam' segment, the 'Sopranos' actor and the 'Glee' star will be remembered in more personal tributes.

AceShowbiz - This year's Primetime Emmy Awards will allocate a longer time for honoring late TV stars. The Television Academy has announced that the upcoming telecast will feature extended remembrances with James Gandolfini, Cory Monteith and two other actors as well as one producer to be included in the special tributes.
In addition to the traditional "In Memoriam" segment, the Tony Soprano of "The Sopranos" will be honored with a speech delivered by his "Sopranos" co-star Edie Falco. Jane Lynch will pay tribute to her "Glee" co-star Monteith, and Michael J. Fox will remember "Family Ties" producer Gary David Goldberg. Robin Williams will honor comedian Jonathan Winters, who worked with him on "Mork and Mindy," and Rob Reiner will remember his on-screen mother-in-law Edith Bunker.
"The 'In Memoriam' is a very emotional and evocative segment for the Emmys, or any annual awards program," Emmy telecast executive producer Ken Ehrlich says in a statement. "These five individuals brought us such great entertainment and joy, so having their close friends share personal remembrances is something that will be very meaningful for television audiences across the country and across the generations."
He adds, "And our traditional 'In Memoriam' segment will be presented in a unique new format that will give added importance to an already much anticipated segment of the Emmy show."
The 65th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air live Sunday, September 22 on CBS from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. in Los Angeles starting at 8 P.M. Neil Patrick Harris is hosting with the likes of Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Kerry Washington set as presenters. Elton John is tapped to perform.
