'The Walking Dead' Season 4 New Featurette: There Might Not Be Any Hope

The prison that they thought has become more stable is no longer safe as new threat is coming from inside and outside the building.

AceShowbiz - A month shy of its return, "The Walking Dead" gives an extended look at season 4 via a new featurette. The series stars and executive producers talk about the danger lurking around the prison, which months after events in the season 3 finale should be a more stable place.

Early in the new season, viewers will indeed see Rick and co. getting more comfortable with the prison, with Rick and Hershel gardening and Carol teaching classes about knives to children. But that seemingly peaceful life soon changes when walkers try to break through the prison fences.

Executive producer Greg Nicotero hints no one knows where the new threat is coming from. Co-executive producer Dave Alpert says Rick doesn't want to be a leader anymore and doesn't want to make a decision, but the situation leaves him no choice. Comic book creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman adds that every character will be pushed to their breaking point.

"It really is all about one thing: what would you be willing to do, and can you come back from the things that you've done to survive?" Nicotero adds. As Kirkman teases, "Things are only going to get worse. Just wait," Scott M. Gimple says, "There might not be any hope."

"The Walking Dead" season 4 premieres Sunday, October 13 at 9 P.M. on AMC. "The Wire" actor Lawrence Gilliard Jr. joins the cast as new character Bob Stookey and David Morrissey returns as Rick's nemesis the Governor.
