The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' producer is reportedly pursuing movie projects that stem from his 1980s and 1990s classic films.

AceShowbiz - After "The Lone Ranger" blunder and the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" delay, Jerry Bruckheimer may return to the old series that propelled his name as a movie franchise hitmaker. Variety reports he will be involved in the next "Beverly Hills Cop" and "Bad Boys" films.
Rumor has it, the producer behind tentpole "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "National Treasure" is on board to produce "Beverly Hills Cop IV" which is expected to see Eddie Murphy back on the lead role. He produced the first two installments, but not the third one.
Murphy previously pitched a new "Beverly Hills Cop" project to TV networks as a buddy cop procedural series with comedic elements. CBS picked it up but later dropped it, leading the actor to work an idea for a new feature film instead. "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" scribes Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are tapped to pen the script.
As for "Bad Boys 3", Bruckheimer is rumored helping develop its script. While lending a helping hand to the new installment of Will Smith classic starrer, he is reportedly also pursuing a follow-up to Tom Cruise's hugely-successful flick "Top Gun".
Bruckheimer's next producing gig at Disney, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales", was pushed back a year from July 10, 2015 to summer 2016 due to script issues. When asked if the delay had something to do with the "Lone Ranger" flop, he admittedly said, "It's all a factor. We want a script that everyone's signed off on and a budget that everyone's signed off on," adding, "everybody's more cautious" after last summer.
