The 'American Idol' winner, who is currently on tour with Maroon 5, says that her upcoming country album is 'almost' done.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson is working on a country album, the "American Idol" season 1 winner has revealed. In a recent interview with Albany, N.Y. radio station WGNA, the 32-year-old pop-rock singer said that the album was almost done.

"We've made almost a whole record," Clarkson, who is currently hitting the road with Maroon 5, told the radio. "We haven't finished because I'm on tour, but we've made a whole record I'll end up releasing."

Clarkson is not a stranger to country music. Back in 2010, she collaborated with country singer Jason Aldean for a song called "Don't You Wanna Stay". Later in 2012, she teamed up with Vince Gill for another country tune, "Don't Rush". Last June, she released "Tie It Up", a country song about marriage proposals and wedding plans. She is also engaged to Brandon Blackstock, who is a stepson of country star Reba McEntire.

However, it doesn't mean that Clarkson has considered a full career in country music. The "Because of You" crooner said, "With [Jewel Kilcher] and Sheryl Crow, they kinda quit in pop and came over to country. I love both. I don't necessarily know if I have one foot in it and one foot in the other."

The upcoming country album is not the only project Clarkson is working on. Last month, she announced that she would release a Christmas album entitled "Wrapped in Red". The record, which features the likes of McEntire, Trisha Yearwood and Ronnie Dunn, is due out on October 29.
