The country pop singer was forced to call off her September 12 concert to recover from a viral infection.

AceShowbiz - Country and pop superstar LeAnn Rimes was forced to cancel her September 12 concert in Dublin, Ireland after she entered an emergency room the day before. A representative for the 31-year-old songstress said Rimes had a "resurgence of a viral infection that she has been struggling with the past two weeks."

"Never thought I'd see the ER in Dublin. I have coughed myself into pain. The spasm is intense. Being human sucks sometimes," wrote Rimes on Twitter the morning she needed to check herself in for the intense coughing. After struggling with it while she's busy touring, it finally caught up with her, forcing her to cancel her Friday night gig at the Vicar Street venue she was scheduled to play in.

The "Just a Girl Like You" singer is "currently on vocal rest in her hotel room under a doctor's care and a vocal specialist." Since she cannot speak a word, the hotel provided her with a large whiteboard, which Rimes posted on Twitter to update her followers, captioned in jest with, "I was thinking smaller but that'll wrk lol."

Most likely those who had already bought tickets to her show weren't in such a similarly good mood, especially after they got wind of the cancellation only a couple of hours before the concert was supposed to have started. It did not help their disappointment that prior to Rimes' illness and the show's cancellation, the artist had tweeted a photo of herself partying with employees of Twitter's Dublin office.
