Jimmy Kimmel Admits He's Mastermind Behind the 'Worst Twerk Fail EVER' Video

The comedian reveals on his late-night show that he made the fake YouTube video with stuntwoman Daphne Avalon about two months ago.

AceShowbiz - After the "Worst Twerk Fail EVER - Girl Catches Fire" video went viral, Jimmy Kimmel stepped out to reveal that it's a hoax. On his ABC show Monday night, September 9, the comedian admitted that he's the mastermind behind the prank, which sees a woman catching fire after falling when twerking upside down.

Kimmel initially invited the girl, known as Caitlin Heller, to be a guest and said he got the full unedited version of the video, which shows what happens after the twerk fail. As it turns out, the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" host is the one who comes to the girl's rescue and extinguishes the fire on her pants.

The 45-year-old then said he and his team made the video two months ago, but didn't not post it on the show's YouTube page or promote it in any way. It just "let the magic happen," he said. Caitlin isn't a real name either, since the girl in the video is actually stuntwoman Daphne Avalon.

"Even though the video was fake, that did not stop hundreds of news outlets from showing it. Some people even blamed Miley Cyrus, as if this was her fault," Kimmel added. He then showed a montage of several TV shows which reported on the twerk fail, saying at the end of it, "Good thing nothing is happening in Syria right now." He also told Avalon, "Thank you for helping us deceive the world and hopefully put an end to twerking forever."
