Vanessa, who was accused of using cocaine during Coachella music festival in 2011, says, 'It's amazing how people like to create something out of absolutely nothing.'

AceShowbiz - Vanessa Hudgens addresses allegation that she abused drugs during Coachella music festival in an October issue of Marie Claire. The 24-year-old actress, who was caught indulging in a substance at the 2011 event, says that it was actually white chocolate.

"I couldn't do anything but laugh. It's amazing how people like to create something out of absolutely nothing," she tells the magazine. "I am human like everyone else. I am aware that there are people who look up to me. When mistakes are made, they aren't intentional, and I constantly push myself to be a better person."

She adds, "It's one thing to have a chat with someone, it's another to have them know your deepest, darkest secrets. Just because people enjoy watching you in films doesn't mean they have to know everything about your entire life."

In the interview, Vanessa says that her family contributes a lot to her success. "Money was a big thing. My parents drove me up to L.A. [for auditions], which cost a lot because of gas, and took out loans so that we could move from location to location to be close to L.A. The family definitely struggled. They were very supportive of me. They gave up a lot so that I could get to where I am," she says.

"I'm so comfortable with myself - honing in on what I love and what makes me powerful," Vanessa says of challenges in acting. "Things I've been doing lately, I'm super-proud of. So I don't really care if someone doesn't like it, because I love it." She adds, " I love finding things that scare me and doing them. That's how you grow."
